NCPPD – Pagan Pride Day this weekend

ALG will have a booth this year for NCPPD and I’ll be teaching ‘Intro to Druidry’ on Saturday at 2.45 pm. I’m working hard to put together the flyers, booth setup and the workshop together in this final week. I do my most creative work when under a sharp deadline, so I expect only the best for folks coming to the booth and stopping by for the workshop!

Summer Solstice/New Moon Meetup: Building your Spiritual Practice with Ritual

We’re going to bring Awen’s Light Grove back together this month for a *special* Summer Solstice/New Moon Meetup on June 22nd!

We’ll followup our ‘Myths of the Bardic Grade’ from June 1st with a discussion on building a druid spiritual practice centered on ritual, myth and what brings you a connection with nature around you.

You can get more information to attend at our meetup.com organizer.

ALG goes Meetup!

Last night’s grove meeting yielded some great suggestions for 2009. One was to establish a meetup.com presences for our grove. Keeping in line with swift action by our druid members, ALG has done just that! Be sure to signup for the meetup and help support our new endeavor!

Lughnasadh Magic

Saturday evening was ALG’s Lughnasadh ceremony. This little tree frog came in for an evening snack of bugs that were drawn to the torch light. We know it wasn’t for warmth – it was hot and humid that August evening! The Moon vine was the bridge needed to crawl up the 6 ft to get close to the flame.

Each ceremony brings something that is either poetic of the natural world or in some way significant to the observer. I know many get the opportunity to slow down, and notice the beauty and draw inspiration of the world around us.

ALG celebrates Summer Solstice 2008 with the grove ceremony and cookout.

With the high energy of the sun upon us, ALG enjoyed ceremony and a cookout on June 21st at Wilderness Nemeton. With an opportunity to appreciate the blessings of the sun and connecting with nature, along with a wonderful evening shower, the ceremony was a wonderful experience for all of us. This is a great time to re-affirm one’s commitments or to use the solar power to make resolutions for the rest of the annual cycle.

The evening was celebrated by a hamburger cookout, conversation and catching up on the last couple of months since we had last met.

Awen’s Light Grove hopes that you took a moment to recognize the season and celebrate in some small way!
